Jesse "Grim" Johansen

I'm a tattoo artist from the Halifax area with a strong foundation in traditional and illustrative styles. I specialize in bold traditional designs, high-contrast colour work, coverups, fine line, and floral.

I've spent the entirety of my career working in street shops, taking on walk-in clientele and am happy to execute whatever comes through the door. I've gained a great amount of experience working alongside other incredible artists who have taught me the importance of humility and respect, as well as work ethic and dedication to our craft.

I'm grateful for every day that I get to work and bring my clients' requests to life. Before tattooing, I was heavily influenced by fine art. My background comes from mostly charcoal drawings, oil painting, and comic design. This was where I initially developed my composition skills, colour theory, and layering techniques. I've spent the last 3 years focusing on bringing quality results to my clients, as well as providing them with a comfortable setting to just be themselves. I'm thankful for every opportunity, and I look forward to being an asset to the team here at Sin on Skin!
